Brighthelmstone Lodge 8042

Diamonds

This Poem was written by Ken on 10th October during the Festive Board of the Duke of Richmond 1025 Mark Lodge and is about the return of a replacement Lodge Keystone Jewel which had been lost some years previous. The Presentation of The Keystone Jewel Ritual was delivered by W.Bro Hubert Small GStB.

History says that in Nineteen-forty five, The Duke of Richmond Mark Lodge came alive,
So, now, in Two-Nought-Nought-Five, you can see, we celebrate our Diamond Jubilee!

We might have overlooked it, after all, had it not been for Brother Hubert Small
(A most inquisitive Brother, we have found who often has his ear well to the ground)!

And so it seems as we are here tonight that it's fitting, and would be completely right,
To revere our Lodge and also, I suppose couple the names of Founders in Repose.

But,e'er we do, there is a further cause for us to greet this evening with applause,
For Hubert went (at goodness knows what cost!) to go to seek for that which once was lost.

Returning not empty handed-hes no fool! but bringing us our long lost Keystone Jewel!
That is why our Lodge is once again complete that Keystone Jewel will shine when e'er we meet!

So we should all remember, after all, that it is wholly due to Hubert Small
But there's another fact we cannot dodge, we have a lot of Diamonds in our Lodge!
