Ted Mitten now has left our ranks for the lodge above, none other,
So, for us all, I shall give thanks for knowing such a brother
He was born in Paddington, a Londoner of yore,
But the family moved to Brighton at the outset of the war.
Educated at Varndean, he in law found his career.
Long-distance running was his scene - a sport that he held dear
When Freemasonry claimed him no-one exerted force-
it was kindly fate that aimed him at Brighthelmstone of course!
Initiated Seventy-six Master in Eighty -five
He held all Offices save two - on work he seemed to thrive.
Provincial Steward in Ninety-two Senior Deacon in Ninety Three
Then in Two Thousand and Two, Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer, he,
Whilst, in Craft, in fullest Measure, he was guaranteed please,
He also found much pleasure in other Lodges and Degrees.
In Royal Arch,it was Regency and Hove it was the Mark,
Whilst twas in Royal Connaught that he boarded the Ark......
But in Mark Degree he made his name as you could surely tell -
Prov.Grand Senior Warden he became, showing he had "marked well".
But behind the Regalia of the great Masonic Plan
Was a job that brooked no failure that was Ted, The Family Man.
Now, our thoughts are with his family and the great loss that is theirs
And we rally to support them with our Love and Prayers.
